Bari is a large, busy city, yet here we truly found peace. We arrived early, with the idea of relaxing and passing the time until our late afternoon departure on the ferry to Greece. I absolutely loved this café-restaurant. The staff spoke limited English, but we managed to communicate perfectly well. They were very friendly and patient with us. The late breakfast was delicious — the salad with mushrooms was bellissimo! The setting, for me as a writer, was a great source of inspiration. We sat cozily in a corner, soaking in the beautiful Italian atmosphere, the local mentality, and the passion of the customers. I don’t think the visitors or staff realized just how much we enjoyed ourselves. Since the ferry was leaving later in the evening, we stayed on, and our brunch slowly turned into lunch — followed by a delightful dessert. It was simply perfect. Top marks! Thank you for the wonderful afternoon you gave us, and once again: compliments to the staff.
